I am a self taught marine and wildlife artist with subjects that encompass evocative seascapes and windswept beaches, yachts and working trawlers, to detailed studies of animals.

Wildlife and animals of many kinds feature in my collection of paintings. I prefer to work in oils on linen canvas for their richness and depth of colour and soft pastels when painting commissioned animal portraits.

My studio is in my home in the village of Tighnabruaich which nestles on a sheltered sea loch with unspoilt views of The Kyles of Bute and the Isle of Arran in the distance. The constantly shifting light, mood and colours of the seawater and the abundance of wildlife in the beautiful rugged landscape of Scotland’s west coast is an endless source of inspiration that I endeavour to recreate in my oil paintings.
